Join us in celebrating the newly renovated Little Theatre, main lobby and more. Festivities begin at 10am with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, followed by self-guided tours from 10:30am-2:30pm and will conclude with a FREE concert featuing legendary American country group Diamond Rio. The concert is first-come, first-served reserved seating. Tickets are limited to 2 per account.
Oklahoma City Council approved the theatre and lobby renovations in March 2020. The project was outlined and voted on by the citizens of Oklahoma City in the 'Better Streets, Safer City' General Obligation Bond Package in 2017, which approved 14.1 million dollars for the project. In addition, the Civic Center Foundation contributed several million dollars in privately raised fund.s. The updates improve the patron experience at the Civic Center and include a new addition to the building's north side, which will serve as the entrance and lobby for the Little Theatre. It provides amenities, including a dedicated bar, new restrooms, balcony seating, and a new balcony lobby. Other improvements to the building ince a complete main lobby makeouver with plush, spacious new seating, combined bar and cafe options, a relocated box office, a patron services desk, and VIP lounge. The project also includes enhanced accessible entrances with additional powered doors and a family restroom equipped with adjustable height changing table on the main level, all while retaining the historical Art Deco ambiance of the building.
