Accessible Entrances

Ramps are located on both the North and South sides of the main (East) entrance, and the door on the North side allows for assisted opening and delayed closing.

Patrons may drop off and pick up on Channing Drive, immediately outside the main entrance to the Civic Center. Handicapped drop off should happen at the north and south sides of Channing Drive for quick access to ramps.

Accessible Seating

Accessible seating is available in each of our performance spaces for patrons who are not able to transfer out of wheelchairs. Tickets for accessible seating are available online, in person, or by phone.

Elevators are located on the south end of the atrium lobby and the north end of the main lobby, and service most levels of the theater. All levels of the Thelma Gaylord Theatre are accessible by elevator except for the Upper Orchestra and Upper Balcony Entrances. Both the Freede Little Theatre and Cityspace Theatre are accessible by elevator.

Accessible Restrooms

Every public restroom in the Civic Center Music Hall has an accessible stall.

There are restrooms on every level of Thelma Gaylord Theatre lobby, except upper balcony. The nearest restrooms to the Freede Little Theatre and CitySpace Theatre are in the North Lobby, next to the café entrance. Please ask a staff member if you are having trouble finding the nearest restroom.

Handicapped Parking

There are 18 dedicated handicapped parking spots in the block surrounding the Civic Center, and all city paid street parking spots are free for cars displaying a valid handicapped permit. There are another 17 handicapped parking spaces at the Arts District Parking garage on 431 W. Main St., which is block away from the theater.

Mobility Device Policy

Mobility aids that cannot be stored safely within the patron’s seating area and wheelchairs for those patrons who transfer to a theater seat will be stored outside the theater as close as possible to patron’s seat by the nearest usher. At intermission, ushers will make every effort to check in with patrons who may need their devices. At the conclusion of the performance, ushers will return the mobility aids to the patrons once the aisles have cleared.

Courtesy Wheelchairs

The Civic Center Music Hall has a limited number of courtesy wheelchairs available to patrons on a first-come, first-served basis. Patrons must bring a friend or companion to assist them in maneuvering the wheelchair around the venue. Staff are not able to leave their posts to assist patrons moving around the building, and wheelchairs are not designed to be self-propelled. Patrons should inquire at the reception desk.
