Taylor Mac's dark comedy is the story of a 21st century prodigal son. A veteran with PTSD responds to his father's stroke by coming home to help care for him, but finds himself in the aftermath of another regime overthrow. His mother (formerly a battered wife) and his newly transitioned transgender sibling are finally thriving in the household that used to be ruled by dad. HIR (a gender pronoun pronounced "here") is a metaphor for both gender and place, and the play will have audiences crying in laughter and sympathy as they attempt to discover if we can all adapt to live here, now.

"Mac [...] isn't so much remaking the world in his own image as he is addressing subjects that remain, remarkably, underplayed on the American stage: what bodies mean and what stories women are allowed to tell or perform." - The New Yorker

"A crackling production of a remarkable, audacious, uproarious black comedy with a daring combination of realism and madcap absurdity." - Charles Isherwood, The New York Times

Brown has a knack for mixing together a perfect base of science, music and food into two hours of pure entertainment. Critics and fans alike have raved about the interactive components of Brown's shows. He promises "plenty of new therapy inducing opportunities during our audience participation segments. "I don't want to give too much away, but this time we're going to play a little game while we're at it. Plus, you'll see things I've never been allowed to do on TV." He's also contemplating more sophisticated protective gear for folks in the first few rows...just in case things get messy...again.

Based on the cult classic film of the same name, The Toxic Avenger is a campy yet topical musical that explores pollution and the monsters (or heroes) it creates. Joes DiPietro wrote the book of the musical, Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan wrote the music, and together they wrote the lyrics. The Toxic Avenger is an unconventional musical about an environmental scientist who sets out to save New Jersey from the toxic waste that is filling the city, but in the process mutates into Toxie, "the super hero that New Jersey needs!" Reviewers agree that this is the musical for B-film lovers, and great fun for those "in the know and in the mood."

The man who wears many musical colors

Those seven words eloquently capture the multifaceted essence of Donald Lawrence. Songwriter. Producer. Composer. Music/Choir director. Recording artist. The guiding force behind such No. 1 hits as “Encourage Yourself,” “Back II Eden” and “The Blessing of Abraham.” Equally at home in both the inspirational and contemporary arenas, the multiple Grammy and Stellar Award winner has collaborated with a diverse roster, including such marquee names as Karen Clark Sheard, Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin, En Vogue and Mary J. Blige.

It is not an exaggeration to say that Donald Lawrence is one of the premier Choir Masters and Vocal Arrangers on the planet. A Grammy, Stellar and Dove Award winner, Lawrence has been influencing the sounds of choirs across the world for over 20 years now. In the 90’s, Donald resurrected the Tri-City Singers, allowing them to be recognized as one of the best choirs in the world. In his solo endeavors, Lawrence created another famed but much smaller choir, his personal background group known as “The Company.” Donald has also written backing vocal arrangements in other genres like Pop, R&B, Musical Theater and Hip Hop.

On top of his personal success in leading choirs, Donald has openly shared his knowledge on the subject matter. He served as the face of Verizon’s “How Sweet The Sound Tour,” where he helped to select the best church choir in America. He has also partaken in dozens of workshops where he teaches his vocal techniques and vocal blend science to choirs and churches across the country.

Donald has the uncanny ability to teach and inspire background vocalists. It’s one of the many reasons he is one of the most sought after vocal producers in the music industry. It is with all of this past experience, combined with a new need in the marketplace that has spawned Donald’s next idea: The “And The Background Sings” National Tour.

Donald Lawrence will bring his “And The Background Sings” Choir Workshop Tour to the Oklahoma City area July 14-15, 2017 at the Rose State College Hudiburg Chevrolet Center in Midwest City.

Choir Master Classes will be held Friday, July 14, from 6:00-10:00 pm. To register for the choir workshop, visit www.BreathofLifeRecords.com.

Workshop Choir Concert will be held Saturday night, July 15 at 7:00 pm. (Doors open at 6:00 pm).

#IMOMSOHARD is for ages 18 and up.

This summer, Jen and Kristin from #IMOMSOHARD are taking their show out of the playroom and onto the road. But this time, they’re bringing the kids. And a tour bus (you didn’t think they’d leave them with their husbands, did you?).

There’s no one making moms feel as uncomfortably normal as Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley, the hilarious oh-so-real women behind #IMomSoHard. With over 675,000 Facebook fans, and more than 55 million views of their web series, Jen and Kristin’s blend of honesty and humor offer the kinds of levity most of us only get from our therapist, proving that if we weren’t all laughing, we’d be crying, right? Right!? Sure to deliver the kind of straight talk you can only get from discussing body hair in the kids’ playroom while sipping mimosas, Kristin and Jen prove you can’t make this shi*t up.

It’s like an evening with two of your besties. But funnier. And probably with more drinking. Definitely more drinking

Celebrating 30 years of stirring virtual adventure and memorable soundtracks with live orchestral renditions directly approved by franchise producer Eiji Aonuma, The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses brings the Zelda franchise to life with a 66-piece orchestra, 24-person choir, and a reimagined score that includes new movements from more recently released Zelda games such as Skyward Sword and the highly anticipated Breath of the Wild, while still paying homage to classic installments like Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past. The five-movement multimedia symphony concert regales fans with Nintendo composer Koji Kondo’s original music, recalling moments of Link conquering dungeons, running through forests, and struggling to decide what color tunic to wear. Throughout the evening, a video collage syncs up with the adventurous tunes to spotlight exciting moments from the venerable franchise.
